GARDEN HOUSE

garden house

  • Location: Atwater Village, Los Angeles, California
Size: 1,700 sf House + 520 sf Studio
Type: Residential Remodel, Ground-Up Studio/Guest House & Landscape Design

The Garden House is a radical remodel with new landscaping of a modest bungalow in the Atwater Village neighborhood of Los Angeles. The goal with this house was to open up the inside by breaking of a chunk of the volume and pulling it away. The existing single-car garage has been torn down and a newly oriented art studio/guest house is shifted to the back of the lot, creating opportunities for a variety of outdoor rooms and more fluid use of the entire lot.
